Terms of Service — plain-language summary
- • ClearBasis is tax software, not a tax professional. We do not review your return, provide tax advice, or represent you before any tax authority. You make the decisions; you sign.
- • Fixed price means fixed price. Your band is verified before payment; any change requires your explicit approval.
- • No outcome guarantees. We guarantee the documentation is traceable to evidence — not what a tax authority decides. Anyone who guarantees outcomes is lying to you.
- • Free preview is really free. No card required; unsaved scan data auto-deletes in 7 days.
Privacy — plain-language summary
- • Your data is yours. Export anytime; deletion on schedule; we never sell it.
- • Read-only by design. We accept only read-only files, addresses, and keys — we can never move funds.
- • Unsaved scans self-destruct. Anonymous scan uploads are deleted after 7 days unless you save them with your email.
- • Emails have one job. Deadline-driven, few, with one clear action; product-critical alerts you asked for are never mixed with marketing.
§7216 consent — what it is
US law (IRC §7216) requires your explicit, informed consent before tax-return information is used or disclosed. ClearBasis asks for that consent in clear language at the moment it matters, scoped to exactly what the product does — never a blanket grant. The consent text ships with counsel review before paid launch.
Refund policy — plain-language summary
- • 30 days, no interrogation. If the deliverables aren't right for your situation, tell us within 30 days.
- • Refunds up to $799 are approved automatically.
- • Band changes are your call. If full ingestion moves you up a price band, you proceed, trim scope, or get a refund — your choice, stated before any charge.
Every deliverable carries this cover-page disclosure: “Prepared by you, using ClearBasis software. ClearBasis is not a law firm, accounting firm, or tax preparer, and does not review your return. Every figure in this document is traceable to the evidence cited beside it.” Final ToS, Privacy Policy, §7216 consent and refund text are counsel-gated before paid launch; this page will carry the full documents when they ship.
